  Foxy = Motor Mount Repair - Partial Repaint: May 2006


FOXY was delivered on schedule May 31

Foxy: was repaired for the owner. The primary objective was to meet survey requirements by replacing a rotten motor mount. The more general work was gel coat repair and "roller/brush" paint of the top 4" of her hull. The objective is to tidy the boat up removing all the cracks possible

The first step or the repair was to epoxy fill the gel coat cracks and sand. and build up damaged exterior F/G of engine mount.
Colour check gunmetal gray paint = OK.

A heavy coat of Interlux Epoxy Primercoat, which is the product for sealing gel was applied. This then was sanded to 150 grit for the first coat of paint.

May 24/06:

The first coat of Gunmetal gray was applied to the grey areas to be painted.

The first coat of colour was sanded to 240 wet and dry, and the rough filling block for the motor-mount was glassed in place.

As of May 26, the biggest hold up will be waiting to get the boat out of this corner, or for the flies to take a break so I can put the finish coat on the top.
