This page will take some time to load due to the number of photographs
The page is made up from a weesk work, today we give the hand rails a last coat and start touc up.
This really is a turning point in the project!
We have a hand rubbed coat, and a brushed coat of Cetol Light over everything except the rails which we will start reassembling the rails today.
The rebuild of the forward pilothouse window was tricky at best as the unit had never been pined or quite exact from the yard. To out it back together it was first necessary to build a jig to maintain square as you put it back together after applying all the sealants and epoxy glue.
Overall this is a very satisfying time in the project. For months I have seen nothing but dust and sanding. As we put the first coat of Cetol on yesterday the depth of the finish is begining to show and the boat is starting to look good.
The decision to finish the teak leaving the aft cabin with temporary coverings and commission the boat by the end of August is still on path for a launch sometime next week. The templates for the aft cabin have been painted white and will cover the worst of the re-coring repairs.
