West from Long Branch the shoreline consists of a narrow beach backed by an urban landscape. The first notable feature between Colonel Samuel Smith Park and Lakeview is Etiobicoke Creek (43 ° 35 " N, 79 ° 33 " W). the creek is entered between two breakwaters and is the site of a day use park operated by the Metropolitan Toronto Parks. There is a privately maintained light near the outer end of the breakwater on the east side of the entrance. There is a launching ramp on the west bank at Marie Curtis Park.

Marie Curtis Park

Marie Curtis Park was a surprise after years boating in the Toronto area, is a mature and developed day use park with recreation and small boat facilities for the trailer boater. The ramps and parking are quiet and the park itself peaceful populated by waterfowl and locals. There is no breakwater and use should be limited to good weather how ever for the trailer boater it is an excellent choice.

There is a submerged pipeline 0.5 miles to the NE and a submerged sewer outfalll 0.1 mile further NE extending 0.6 miles ESE. The outer ends of both are marked by buoys.

SW of Mimicoo Creek 1.3 miles is Lakeview. Lakeview falls within the City of Mississauga. The conspicuous feature is the Lakeview Generating Station which is a better known landmark as the Four Sisters for its 4 500 foot tall chimneys. The chimneys which display air obstruction lights.

Lakefront Pomenade Light (519.8) is located on the east side of the entrance to the harbour with an elevation of 25 feet. It is shown from a 16 foot high white circular tower with red upper portion. During boating season you will find privately maintained spar buoys marking the race course.

Lakeview Generating Station has a pier which extends 0.3 miles into the lake with the coal unloading berth along the south side of the pier which is 1000 feet in length. There is a break wall of 2000 feet in length parallel to this pier which protects a water intake. There are also 3 submerged water intakes 0.2 miles to the SW of the generating station

Lakeview

As in this entire area of shore the Lakeview Generating Station dominates the shoreline. To find the marina you only need aim for the Four Sisters as the marina is just to the west of the station itself. There is a water outlet channel to the east of the main marina basin separating the station from the park, which does not appear have adequate depth for effective navigation in 1999.

Lakeview

To the SW is the Lakefront Public Marina which has depths of 7 to 9 feet and many facilities as shown below. There are dual launching ramps and a small concession stand along with helpful park staff.

The Lakefront Pomenade Public Marina ( 2 ) at the N end on the same side as the yacht club has limited transient boat dockage with 30 amp power and a snack bar.

Lakeview

Facilities are the Port Credit Yacht Club ( 1 )
[ Port Credit YC Website ] for members and reciprocating yacht clubs with depths of 12 to 15 feet at the docks to the south. Port Credit Yacht Club is a fabulous club with a stately club house and manicured lawns. The club offers a junior sail training program which was very much in evidence when we visited offering a variety of craft.

Lakeview

For families seeking recreation ashore, particularly with smaller children this is a excellent choice. There is a well laid out and expansive playground directly east of the yacht club. with a boardwalk for those wishing to fish the warm waters of the generating station outfalll. Further north in the park is a softball diamond which is home to several local leagues, tennis courts, paths and more play space.
