Chapter .1. We begin the log with a retrospective look at our flight over and follows us through sheeting rain and mist in to the English countery side. With the jet lag I am burnt out and we quit for a catch up nap at yet another "Station Inn".Chapter .2. We leave the Salsibury Plains and the downs of West England and cross into Wales pausing at Tinturn Abby.Chapter .3. This synopsis feature describes the general topics covered on the page. This site is checked regulary and should load in no more than 30 seconds.Chapter .4. We Begin this adventure "Breacon, Wales " Traveling over Black Mountains passes and criss crossing Wales. Finally turning back eastward to our days end arrival at the New Priory Hotel in Herefordshire, England.Chapter .5. We Begin this adventure at the New Priory Hotel in Hertsfordshire, England. We then follow our days drive through the Hertsfordshire countryside pausing to investigate a Live Steam Railways with plenty of time to make Wallingford by supper time.Chapter .6. We travel north and spend out first night aboard " Maid of Windsor 3 " Mooring for the night at Days Lock near the Abby of DorchesterChapter .7. From Days lock near Dorchester we push north to Oxford and the end of the Thames as we can explore, where we turned southwards before nightfall.Chapter .8. Monday,September 1,1997Chapter .9. South of Shiplake Lock, Mile 49.5.Chapter .10. By noon we reach Madinhead and finally find the primo fishing supply, then continue to Windsor arriving early evening.Chapter .11. Leaving Windsor Castle to our stern we work our way past the royal corn fields and rich shore accomodation to Bell Weir lock.Chapter .12. AS we pass through Bell Weir lock we venture into the inner reached on London Proper. Only to be disinchanted and decide to pass on entering the tidal part of the Thames and London Harbor proper. A long days run with few pictures returning to Windosr jaus as the locks close for the night.Chapter .13. North from Windsor retracing our steps, stopping at Temple lock for the night and continuing to Hallsmead Islet Friday evening.Chapter .14. Saturday, Diana's funeral and a somber day on the river. We progress ever closer to our point of origin flinally stopping for what turned out to be two days near Whitchurch.Chapter .15. The closing day where there is little to occupy your eyes and closes this tale. |
