AAKJAGHT

Owner Walter Vandewalle
Aakkkjaght is a generic name for this traditional hull form.

This is another work in progress that now spans over a quarter of a centuary. The first time I ran accross her was in Port Darlington in the early 80's then I lost track of when I went south for my 10 year cruising sabatical. Over the course of plying the Bay of Quinte and development of cruising.ca I once again ran accross Walter and the on going project. She is now nestled in her own slip on her own property at the poutskirts of Picton.

The traditional hull form was developed in the Netherlands (Holland) over the last 300 years and has been developed to the max in the last 25 years. The most celebrated designers hasve finally come to the conclusion that it is no longer possible to improve on the design or its performance.
