Vendee Globe 2000

16th November...
First obligatory waypoint of the Vendee Globe 2000.
Gate Mark 1 is the invisible rectangle situated just North of Gran Canaria. Michel Desjoyeaux (PRB) won the gybing battle in shifting 15 - 20 knot northeasterly winds becoming the race's new leader.

17th November...
In the 4th Vendee Globe a 20 to 30 knot ENE wind is making life hard on the skippers as they try to gain westerly miles. Michel Desjoyeaux (PRB), who was leading yesterday ( 11/ 16) apparently erred in making a first decision to gybe to get more West as Yves Parlier has taken the lead again.
