The commute in is peacefull and I enjoy the solitude of the drive through the County. Mountainview the CFB base that is used for jump and STOL training remains a landmark of the plateau .

On the fianal approach to Belleville is a large marsh that was sheathed in ice.

The freezing rain has coated everything with ice. The entire work area has 3" or 4" of glare ice and moving accross it takes considerible care. The door to the basement was frozen totaly shut warning of an issue over the course of the winter.

The weather is Ontario's favorite blend of near freezing with a smattering of precipitation ranging from freezing rain to light snow. The commute accross the Plateau's farmland is kept challanging due to drifting snow blowing in from Lake Ontario. This entire westerly facing edge of Prince Edward County is a traditional graveyard for ships throughout history. There is many a story of the happless mariner aground 300 yards offshore close enough for their cries to carry to the concerned watchers on shore. All too often the passangers and crew never made it through the brutal surf that piles up on the windswept shores rolling the gusting winds up and accross the plateau.

Another day off and as usuial it stasrted with checking Defiance and taking care of the cats. All were accounted for today as they were enjoying a break in the weather and prowling. Clyde is just too lovable and is far more interested in companionship than food. Sweetie (black & white) and Mom were hungry and happy to see me and performed a fine cat chorus to welcome me.
