Wednesday September 28

I have no internet access at the moment (bad phone line) and as such this will probably become the last update. I anticipate being able to cobble my lines back together at least once more before leaving at which time I will get this posted.

Visit the Wakaura web page here for the latest updates

The first new job is in the shop and things are comming together. The big glass party went well on Wakaura and I have the boat closed up on schedule. It is raining cats and dogs with myself and Rufus hunkered down in the aft cabin as the rain beats down outside. I just made the weather window for the Wharram. Now on to Defiance, the leaving and all manner of new stuff next update.

In a couple of hours I start another monster shift on the Wharram which I hope will see all bare wood fiber glassed and watertight. Admittedly I have this deep nocturnal writing habit, but I love the solitude and beauty of the water at night as the wind whistles outside. Rufus likes it too and it is wonderful time to know your cat as they are in full prowl mode. It is brisk outside and warm and comfy in here as I continue the Espar's fall run up testing.

This may well be the last Blog entry from Waupoos. The first of the new jobs is in the new shop and I might as well get started before I start to pay heating costs. If my prior interruption notice was due to the computer screen dying (I bet 30 days) I only have dial up and my land line here at Waupoos is breaking down again to where my connection speed can be down to single digits. True I am getting my 52.3 VDC, but static. I could not find it today and there is no time to bother. I have decided is simply a matter of when a lot of boats get moved there is a lot of movement along the docks where the line runs. The Espar is doing nicely after its fall tune and I enjoy the apartment comfort as I tidy up the Blogs. I expect over the comming months a lot of my focus will shift to the shop rather than on-board as I put Defiance to bed for the winter. I do have a new full County cellular phone which covers all of my operations area including outlying Prince Edward county locations, providing voice answering and text mail.

It is only weeks before defiance's lines are picked up and Defiance goes for a fall jaunt. Next week crew comes aboard and I am nearly fueled. So for now I leave you to lay up your boats and do the same after a long boating season. I DO pick up and respond to email every couple of days even when off the dock and am working on maintaining seamless communications.
