The bad weather is just south of Lake Ontario and I will go the mile and take the aft deck cover off, secure the last of anything loose and rig the dinghy for rain.
Tomorrow will be a nice day and then Ernesto is comming and by all reports it will be wet and a little voice in my head says one should batten the hatches here in Waupoos. The tract is further west than we usually see and it depends on how much the Americas take out of its punch. What is known is that there will be a clash of it's low and a Arctic high just south of the Great Lakes.
This week has been all about wrapping up jobs so that I can hit the road next week as time for my decision is growing short. Not without options. Just short of time. So much will depend on exactly which of the winter jobs I decide to take on, and which is the best deal long term. But for now it is wrap up everything and get Defiance perfect.
So much to do and such a time frame. It is September and the weather will deteriorate soon and Defiance will once again earn passage to our winter sanctuary. I still have not water tested the fuel as I always get condensation in the tanks on Defiance and deal with water in the tank as a matter of practice. The process and solutions are simple and getting more repeatable as a matter of normal maintenance. First we need a whack of fuel conditioner and a little rough day sail to stir things up. Then starting tomorrow I will carry 4 jerry cans and start to take on travel and winter fuel 10 gallons at a time.
The Glenora Marine will be all but finished tomorrow and I do not believe that there is anyone who could have done a better job, price or no price. Thursday was scheduled for
matting the floor but we spent the day flushing our the floor edges and messing with making hatches. Friday we will do the floor glass party and then with the exception of any touch up the job is done.
