Tuesday August 15
The wind set in from the southwest early in the day and maintained a 20 kph for the entire day leaving the bay restless and many of the otter boats bouncing.I took the day off and helped Arthur take the Mercedes to the factory Mercedes doctor in kingston. The trip down was leisurely as Arthur had to keep his speed down and stop to check the bearing for heat. By the time we hit Amherst I had time for a nice windy shore walk while waiting for him to catch up.

Sweetie stopped by for several hours last night, but was all too soon gone. I am afraid that she and Serendipity will have to remain boatyard cats for whatever it may bring as for a cat to live on a boat they must what to be there.
After a nice Curry lunch I had the chance to get down to the fine points about wintering in Kingston Marina. Another option, but pretty industrial after Waupoos and a very dangerous cat place. So at this stage good, another option that makes three. Right now that is all I care. I can't do anything about the changes, but am not ready to decide yet.

CHENOA is done. The new power windlass works and all the other little tasks are complete so there is one less thing on my plate for the week. The Glenora boat will start to get the first of the new fiberglass this week and I must get on the road and tie down some of these variables.
Johnny and Dingo finally made it back from down south after being held up by the Erie Canal closure at lock 10. Thousands of dollars and a month later they made the trip via Sorrel and the StLawrence.
The reality of the marinas policies which will probably requiring my leaving Waupoos is beginning to sink. Income, telephone and base are all gone. Kingston is posing the most likely place if I continue to do big boat repairs as they allow outside contractors and live aboards. Whatever life is going to bring, it is going to be change and Defiance better get ready for some miles. In the last half hour of checking my mail I lost the 22' Rosborough restore to someone going back to university, and gained an entire cabin on a Pacemaker 33 which is a all winter and dedicated build job well suited to Tony's shop near Belleville.
The question that is daunting me is if my body will do it as this is now week 4 since hurting my shoulder, and I am still not ready to freehand grind the Wharram cat, or hand sand and polish gelcoat. Getting old is really a drag as the body starts to get its payback.
