Sanded out pre coat wiped off with 2 202 cleaner. Visit the Cedar Skiff Repair Page here.
Life is mellow in Waupoos Marina John Bachelor has progressed well with the repaint of Joy B and I get a little sailing time with friends David and Elizabeth. There have been severe thunderstorms every evening bringing torrential rain and strong winds.
On the other side of the cruising coin the anchorage has not been busy at all this year and the weeds are already making holding a issue. ![]() I have brought in Chris to help me with the hand sanding in defence of my shoulders and having a bit of company is a nice change. Cedar Skiff: Wednesday, July 11, 2007![]() ![]() ![]() Things are in high gear now with two of us working on the skiff logging 10 or 12 hours a day. We now have the port side repaired and pre-coated, with perhaps 40% of the starboard done before we ran out of chemicals at 18:30. Now with the shear in its final colour the boat is starting to look PRETTY.
There are numerous ding, gouges, cracks and divot's in the hull that have to be dealt with. Someone has obviously tried to clean up the scarfs. But, not bad for a 70 year old boat. Temperature 22°C, Pressure 101.0kPa, Wave Height N/A, Wave Period 2sec, Sea Temp. 20°C, Wind WSW 11 knots

Friday ended with a great note in that my new $1,000 3250 GPH primary waterpump finally arrived from Nova Scotia. The A100 super fab stainless steel adaptors fit perfectly and the rotation and flow are correct making the install a much easier job. If I guessed today it will onbly require one plate that I can mount to existing mount points. |
