The heat has come! So have the flies!
Rufus has adapted to life on D Dock and has staked his claim to the dock and our finger world. As long as I change the lake water in his bowl he is quite happy to hang out for most of the day on board now having developed some acceptable watching spots.
I no longer have any heat on at night and will soon have to change to summer bedding as it is getting quite warm now.

It is getting hot now and the sun soon burns off the morning mist as I rises over the Rock.
I finished the Gib today and once again swear I will not take these client directed projects. I well it is not for me to judge I am happy for the work. Not having to finish the edge of the non skid was a relief as I know the owners time estimate was off. On the other hand after you have spent all the time and money to get to the painting stage I can never understand why someone would try to get away with a single coat of paint when Mfgs speck calls for 2 to 3 coats spread out over 3 days. Oh well. Ready for the next project which will be epoxy glass repairs to a 1934 woodie.
The only issue I find in this paradise on Canada's Rivera, is the Ontario BUGS! You cannot turn around or open your mouth without the thick cloud of the things finding their way in. Summer has arrived and so have clouds of the fly s, some call them Shad Flies, others May flies, and I have learned a half a dozen names for the pesky insects. They are everywhere and it is as if Defiance has grown a sseethingblack skin. Fortunately most do not bite but some in the clouds do.
I love spring launchings and the arrival of new boats to compliment the Marina's resident flotilla.
Here is a lovely little boat from Glouster, MA in traditional trim.
Rufus fully enjoys his time on the aft deck.
