Waupoos's crane launch was delayed a day until the 22nd, the holiday monday which came clear and bright for the event. Or non event as there was only Windancer I and Vagabonds the CS 32's and Mile Boulters Amel. Mike has worked hard and steadily to make this launch after a serious bout of tricky fiberglass repair for aging boat ills. Very nice work Mike.

I must give up on the dream of a North West Passage, my body has officially quit and the best I can look forward to is permanent disability. The future looks very different today after I got my second overall Orthopedic consult which brings the current round to a close. I am toast!

I curse the Ontario Health System for August of last summer when I should have been properly diagnosed. My complaints to the hospital administrator may have got the ball rolling, but I should have been told nine months ago. However enough complaining. My issues are not imagination or repairable thus Defiance needs a new home this lifestyle will become impossible for me to maintain very quickly now. I must sell Defiance and move to a single level dwelling with planned low storage and work surfaces ASAP.

Rufus has become so nocturnal spending his days aboard and his nights prowling. It is probably a good thing as the place will get busy very soon and the dock walk will be pretty intimidating for a kitty. Then again he is hanging out aboard Defiance and on the surrounding docks far more than when we were on the wall. Good practice for him I say.

Arthur is now a neighbor a couple of boats inland and Beauty his cat is now contemplating life on a busy dock. She does however shows no signs of being unhappy and is quite friendly in an all of cat way as she checks the dock ramp.

Waupoos Marina crane launch was moved to the holiday Monday which was almost a benefit for Mike Boulter and the re launch on his Amel. Rick has done an amazing job in the last two weeks and there are a huge number of boats in and even the hot tub is ready to go with the first visiting boats arriving.

The weather is far from spring like with the temperature dropping through the day and with frost forecast for tonight. Today was a bit over my limit of sanding and I will happy when the Acetaminophen kicks in and the heat pad warms up.

Overall a pretty good day and I am pretty much on schedule if the weather will cooperate. I bought a 4x7” light trailer which will make me a bit more mobile with the little car. I will sell the Com pod a 10” fiberglass trailer was pretty much all the 3 liter V6 Carvan could pull so this 4 is not enough to tow it. It is a crazy prep as the gel coat has a molded non skid and normal sanders will not get in the valleys, even brass brushes leave marks, and the only tool that seems to work is a synthetic flapper wheel that can only run up to 1400 RPM which rules out the 13,000 RPM grinders. It took al of about 4 hours before the 3.8 AMP Mastercraft 3/8” corded drill packed in with screaming bearings, leaving the tool quite dead.

Then again it was late and getting cold so I made a Home Depot stop and bought a nice Rigid Professional 3/8” drill with a 6.5 Amp motor which should stand up a bet better.
