Morning brought bright sun and large packs of ice driven through the channel sparkling and dancing in the restless water.
The ice went out of the channel Sunday at 16:00 EDT (4 PM) forced west by a brisk north east wind Smith's Bay opened effortlessly. That is sit as soon as Rick gets to the break wall which largely sank over the winter Defiance will be free again.

Rick has had a bad accident and cut part of his finger off his left hand with the table saw while working on the office counter. Things were going so well for the marina and 2007 projects. He is OK but a very close call.
April 2
This is going to be a busy week with my TAXES no closer than organized receipts. The snow is gone from the shop and we will get several loads of gravel in to make the driveway a little more civilized. I will not even bother with the big shop this year as the floor and moisture problem is a no win situation. The small shop has a furnace and cocreate floor and more than enough space for tender craft. It is time that I get started on the dory which will put me on location if there is a clear spot in the weather so I can give ET its final delivery once over.
Sweetie and Mom are doing OK but I fear for the little ones future as she is spending very little time outside of her refuge and it is a lonley life even for a cat. Poor timid little thing answers my calls and does her entire repertoire of cat greetings but has pulled even further away . She is very skittish and Mom is gone for days at a time, she did still visit today and enjoy her lap sit and rub for perhaps 5 minutes before scooting off.
