Saturday morning and it is snowing steadily again. I will get it together now and make the trip to the Libary so I can update these pages and do my email stint. Yesterday was another road trip in search of fittings for After the Storm, which is a tale unwinding.

The snow here at Waupoos is building nicely as we have been getting far more snow than most of the north shore of Quinte. There is no distinction between the dock wall and Defiance making for great insulation and living here still quite an extraordinary experience.

Friday dawned crisp and clear with temperatures in the low teens and a cold wind racing accross Smith's Bay from the west. For all the sunshine you can not help but feel the cold out here.

Friday the 16th was a scheduled road trip in search for elusive drop down hardware for After the Storm's table. That is the drawback to out here if you need anything it is 150 KM by the time you get there and back. The prices of marine fittings is just criminal. $60.00 for 2 hinges. I will be making this drop down table instead.

As always I make my stops by the live aboard marinas as there will be no Waupoos in my or anyones future as this is the last year for any reason, any boat can be here at Waupoos. There is still a little spot for me which will do quite nicely here and there is a much more realistic attitudes about boats and working on them Kingston is a proper working yard.

All of Adolphus Reach is frozen solid now with only the tiniest bit of open water in front of the Amherst Generator outflows.

Waupoos Marina Plans & News

Next summer Rick is moving ahead with plans to increase dockage by almost 1/3 which will fill this charming spot like a parking lot. There is no way I am going to attempt to do a 90 degree turn and back into a finger slip with 80 feet clearance and a Tupperware boat on the side. All the power to him as it will probably make money and everything has its place. I simply do not believe this is cruising.

Both Serendipity and Sweetie are doing OK in spite of the orange building being unsafe at night. I moved last years insulated kitter box to the high point and it seems to be becoming a popular day time hangout. I might as well forget getting cat portraits with this stupid Cannon camera.
